New Orleans Saints linebacker, Pete Werner, and Emily Chernoff were married downtown Indianapolis on March 22, 2025. Surrounded by 300 of their friends and family, the couple had a traditional Catholic ceremony at St. Joan of Arc with an elegant ballroom reception at Scottish Rite Cathedral.
An homage to Emily’s Irish roots, a bagpiper lead the recessional and grand exit from the church.
Their wedding featured soft tones of yellow, terracotta, and lush greenery, with delicate fruit accents and abundant floral arrangements bringing Emily’s vision to life.
Emily and Pete’s love story began at Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, where they first met and became close friends. Though life took them to different colleges—Emily to Miami of Ohio and Pete to Ohio State, where he played football—their connection remained strong, leading to a long-distance romance. Pete’s football career eventually took him to the New Orleans Saints, but through it all, their love only deepened.

In a nod to Pete’s NFL career, they incorporated New Orleans-inspired details, including a charming floral and greenery cart with a bistro table for a picture-perfect moment, and, of course, a late-night treat of beignets—because no New Orleans celebration would be complete without them!
Entertainment for the evening was provided by the Endless Summer Band. An afterparty followed at the Bottleworks Hotel.
